Pretty much all the schools in the UK are now closed for the summer break – so we wish you all a wonderful season of relaxation, adventure, or a mix of both! We'll even help you get started with a mini competition at the end of today's blog... ;-)
There are still plenty of places to hear stories this summer if you're looking for them, though. Snail Tales storytellers will be in Bristol, Bromsgrove, Great Missenden and Dereham before the season's over – and, of course, telling Bedtime Stories every night (and introducing The First King of England in a Dress...) at Greenbelt Festival in Kettering!
Plus watch this space for some exciting news about all things arising from Snail Tales, the home of family storytelling.
But for brilliant storytelling from other storytellers in the UK, you can also visit the website of the Society for Storytelling by clicking here.
For now, though, we thought we'd leave you with a mini competition*. Below is a delightful animation of our Chip mid-story, snapped by our face-painter Emma at the Cambridge Big Weekend! We'll give a free Autumn-term assembly to a school chosen by whoever can name the main character in the story Chip is telling in this animation. Here's an extra clue: this multi-legged character's head gets stuck in a very unfortunate place...
Think you've got it? Visit our contact page to let us know – and be sure to type your email address correctly so we can contact you if you've won!
*Competition is only open to schools in the UK. If the winning school is further than 2 hours from our base in Cambridgeshire, the free assembly will be subject to a nearby school(s) and/or theatre(s) booking our storytelling at a special discount of 25% off our usual prices. Alternatively the winning school may take advantage of the 25% discount themselves from a Full Day Storytelling programme, with an additional £50 off in lieu of the free assembly.
